Our Field Service Team focuses on local and worldwide installation, service and maintenance of Varex Imaging Security & Inspection Products (SIP) within our Varex Industrial division.

With immediate effect our Field Service Engineer Team is looking for a Field Service Engineer (technical degree/expertise required) (f/m/d) – home based/Italy

Interesting tasks are waiting for you supporting our Field Service Team based in Europe on…

  • The installation, service and maintenance of Varex Imaging Security & Inspection Products (SIP) with limited supervision.
  • Provides (in co-operation with senior support engineers and / or the supervisor) technical assistance on-site and / or by phone to customers, to maintain high quality performance of Varex Imaging Security & Inspection products Worldwide
  • Install, maintain and repair to the highest standard, Varex Imaging Security & Inspection Products with limited technical or direct supervision. Instruct customers in operation and maintenance of Varex Imaging Security & Inspection Products.
  • Maintain customer confidence through professional communication & technical expertise, including efficient and effective troubleshooting.
  • Act as a loyal representative of Varex Imaging, showing high confidence in the company and the company’s products.
  • Provide phone support and troubleshooting directions to customers in close cooperation with specialists from other geographical areas.
  • Act as a product specialist.
  • Bring safety problems and repetitive costly repair problems to the attention of senior support specialists and / or the local area manager.
  • Report your activity within the expected time frame on standard forms (i.e. service reports, weekly time sheets, expense reports, etc.) and prepare travel schedules in advance.

As the ideal candidate, you have...

  • Graduated from a technical institute or university in electrical engineering, mechatronics or related fields or have equivalent Military training (required)
  • 3-5 years experience in a similar position
  • Basic all-round knowledge of electronic, electrical & mechanical components and applications as well as of logistical processes (required)
  • A proficient level of experience to operate an Oscilloscope, DVM and read schematics - PLC Logic programming is an advantage (required)
  • Expertise to react and troubleshoot efficiently and logically under pressure & at short notice.
  • Ability to interface, communicate and train the customer in the operation of the Security and Inspection Products.
  • Experience with Risk Assessment procedures.
  • the Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) certification
  • Advanced MS Office and Sales Force skills as well as SAP
  • Ability to work and communicate within a multi-cultural and worldwide team.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (70-80%) and to work at short notice and outside standard hours as required supporting the customers/products in and outside of Europe.
  • Fluency in English and the local language is required.
